This is our own project: we use it to test approaches before offering them to clients. We launched the website from scratch, with no ads. Three weeks later, 41 enquiries had come in on WhatsApp from travellers from the UK, Poland, the Netherlands, Norway and other countries.

Task

A new website usually needs months before Google starts showing it. We wanted the first customers in the same season. And we wanted to test whether customers can come through AI assistants: travellers increasingly ask ChatGPT for directions instead of a search engine.

What we did

01

A page for every route

A traveller searches for "transfer from Tivat airport to Budva" and lands on a page about exactly that route. They immediately see the price, the travel time and which car fits their luggage and kids. The answer is right in front of them, so they get in touch straight away instead of leaving to compare.

02

Three languages

Russian, English, German — for the people who actually travel to Montenegro.

03

One-step enquiry

At launch, the visitor picked a route, saw the price and wrote on WhatsApp — no long forms, no calls. Today bookings on the website go through a partner.

04

A website AI assistants recommend

ChatGPT and other assistants recommend businesses they know about and trust. So we added:

  • Direct answers to travellers' questions on the pages: how much it costs, how long the ride takes, whether the luggage fits, whether kids or a dog can come along.
  • Local knowledge that aggregators don't have, in the blog and on route pages: where the mountain switchbacks are, how to plan a cross-border trip.
  • Directories. The website was added to popular travel directories and listings, so it's known beyond the site itself.
  • Technical accessibility. The website is easy for search crawlers and AI assistants to read.

Result

41 WhatsApp enquiries in the first three weeks

During those days only a handful of people came to the website from Google — the enquiries came another way.

AI assistants bring one visitor in five

In September, 22% of visitors came via recommendations from AI assistants. That's exactly what the website was built for.

Google followed

In three months the website was shown in search 13,400 times, and 248 people clicked through. Most clicks came from Montenegro, the UK, Germany, Russia and Serbia.

What we learned

Enquiries started coming in before the partner business was ready to handle them: there weren't enough drivers, and most enquiries had to be passed on to other trusted transfer companies. So now we discuss with every client in advance how many enquiries they can take, so the flow isn't wasted.
